Nia Diakos has an ordinary life running her restaurant taking care of her little sister Suddenly her restaurant is attacked her little sister kidnapped and Nia is catapulted into a colossal war between the forces of good Son of PDF and evil among an ancient race of magici. Terrible Terrible TerribleThe whole story is stupid because the team who took Nia in the first place could have gotten Sophie too if they'd listened to what Niawas saying instead of putting her to sleep Everything that followed was because of that mistakeThe hero has been celibate for a hundred years closing himself off to love and family after his heart was broken by a human woman Yet he falls in love with Nia in the course of a day ReallyThe heroine falls in love with a guy who kidnapped her then basically drugs and rapes her She doesn't know anything about him so her love is based on nothingThe sex rape scene was very off puttingThe image of aroused male genitalia just above a tail is disturbing not arousingGunnar is the Guardian's second in command He wants to be the Guardian himself And yet he is so indiscreet that he tell's Erik's business to a complete strangerThen there's the end of the story I've never found it to be romantic when the hero allows the heroine or vice versa to go on believing that he doesn't feel the same way that she does just to do a big dramatic reveal I just think it's cruel In this case it's even so since he can actually read her thoughts and knows how miserable she is

Son of the SeaAns known as The Gifted And that's only the beginningRacing to retrieve the powerfully magical Jar of Naxos from the depths of the North Sea before the evil opposition finds it Nia is paired with Erik a merman chieftan whose icy demeanor reflects a century of bitterness a. This story has an interesting premise Nia Diakos has just received a letter from an unknown Aunt from Greece telling her that she and her sister might be in danger as they come from a family of Keepers Suddenly her restaurant is attacked and her sister is kidnapped while she is rescued by another group She is taken to their leader Eric who is captivated by this human woman when he knows he cannot be involved He is a merman chieftain harboring centuries of grief Nia is catapulted into a fight between good and evil and both groups are searching for the ancient artifact her family had lost during WWII And only she or her sister can touch it This story felt rushed with only the briefest of background information given Also because it is a race against time as to who will get to the object first Nia is forced into a change that she is not given a choice about which will change her life forever It has it's HEA but the story was too rushed for me to really enjoy It was also hard to really get to know the characters enough to really care about the outcome I don't see myself picking up any books in this series though I am glad to have tried it out
